I am a student at the University of North Carolina at Asheville pursuing a major in psychology and a minor in political science. I am also a part of the K-6 teaching license program there and hope to become an elementary educator after graduating in 2023. My experiences of helping myself and my two younger sisters through the education system, as well as being an AVID tutor and going to schools as a part of my teaching licensure program has made me more aware of the problems in the education system. I am interested in learning more about how to foster welcoming and inclusive school environments that work to empower all students. In my free time, I enjoy volunteering at my local elementary school, watching movies, and playing with my two dogs.
